Ok. I've got it down to two marathons I'd like to run, but the problem is that they are both on the same day!

It's between this one and Columbus, so I have a question:

With all the flooding and all that's happened, is that going to have any effect on the event?

Thanks.

Wow! I have been watching this thread, hoping someone would answer it. I'm on the other side of the continent, so would really appreciate knowing the answer too.

I have watched this event several times. This year I am going to be running it.

Last year, the course was all but under water from the weather, but by some miracle -- or the professional actions of the race staff -- it was just fine on race day. There were plenty of comments about how well they did in the face of an act of God!

If they could fix THAT mess, I don' think you can ever legitimately worry about future weather-related flooding or course problems.

Is it expected that the hurricane season will affect this race?

It does not appear that way at this time.

Of course, with the weather, you never know, but it's doubtful that hurricanes will affect the event at all.

I have a great interest in anticipating the weather on race weekend, so am reading all I can on the topic.

The averages for the 19th are 41 low and 62 high.

Hey - has anyone ever heard of the Serentiy Prayer? God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change (like the weather), the power to change the things I can (like my attitude) and the wisdom to know the difference.

You are definitely not in charge of the weather, so stop worrying about it. In fact, stop worrying all togehter!

Well, that's just crazy! If I didn't think I could control things -- like the weather -- I wouldn't be a marathon runner! 8)
