Hi all
Bit of an embarrassing one, but the title says it all.
Currently training for Virgin London and mileage increasing quite well, 12 miles due this weekend. Am finding the longer my distance, the greater my problem.
I use micro-pour (spelling?) surgical tape on the advise of a friend, but am finding that as the mileage is increasing, it's not sturdy enough to last the run?
Help anyone please???
Hi,
Plasters work for me....just normal, everyday elastoplast.
Good luck,
Deek

Have you tried the body lubes you get in running shops (or vaseline?) the pocket sized one would be easy to carry if you chose that route. If you use elastoplast just use cooking oil to remove it after the run, itll peel off easily without any sticky marks (alcohol works too if it isnt sore)

Vaseline and plasters are the best option, or a tighter fitting shirt
Thanks all. I've tried vaseline, but find I end up having to put it on very regularly, so it puts me off my stride.
I'll give the plasters a go, hopefully they will have a bit more staying power than the surgical tape stuff. Will give a tighter tshirt a go as well.
How about trying to wear a bra, it works for me, lol!
Hey-ho here I go

Bodyglide is perfect for this.
Mental toughness is for wimps
Hi
I tried various things but nothing worked too well until I found 'nip guards'. They stay on for hours and your nips are
as good as new! Found them in a running shop, cost a little but only wear for longer runs so not bad.
Good luck!
What's Bodyglide?
Nipple tape, the stuff that women use for low cut dresses might work too

Body glide is gel lubricant. T*t tape won't work... it will stick your T-shirt to your body to help reduce friction but it does unpeel quite easily.

Thanks for that!
I used to suffer with this, but by wearing base layer tops in all weathers helped me and i rarely suffer any more.

Is base layers a make or just a generic term. . . as in a tight fitting base layer?
It's a generic thing, it's just a close fitting item of clothing that doesn't restrict your movement. It's often silky to the touch to help reduce friction and keep you comfortable as it's the item of clothing you're most likely to keep on. The material differs depending on the effect you're after... i.e. warmth.

I don't know if you have them in the UK but here in the US I've used Band Aid Sport Strips for long runs and marathons. They never come off. In fact they will stay on even after a week of showering.

I wear a base layer under my t-shirt and I've always been fine - definitely worth giving that a good. Adding tape sounds like it'd be pretty irritating.
i suffer badly from joggers nipple and the only thing to work so far has been corn plasters (over the obvious spot!!) the elastoplast extreme plasters over the top.. ive tried normal plasters and micropore tape and evrything falls off after an hour or so!! but under no circumstances use duck tape!!!! it will tear you to bits!!!. just dont ask me how i know!!!!LOL

Thanks again everyone, will give the base layer a go to see if that makes any difference.
Do you bother taping up underneath or is the base layer good enough on its own?
