How much should I rest? I do activity Monday to Friday, but know you should be resting. I've heard every other day is a good amount?

Is the exercise quite intense? Do you ache after doing it?

I exercise pretty much every other day, but if I'm aching after an intense class/gym session then I'll give myself another day off, it all just depends on how I'm feeling.

It depends how intense the exercise is. You should aim to be generally active every day, but if you are doing intense workouts it's definitely good to have a couple of days rest from them. I don't do anything that strenuous haha, so I aim to exercise every day.

If I'm honest, I find it hard to strike a balance. I think I prefer moderate exercise daily compared to intense exercsie three times a week. but then I suppose you don't get the same buzz from it?

I think the recommended amount of acitivty is something like 40 mins of activity. But it doesn't have to be an intense amount, just enough to raise your heart rate. So, if this were true then walking fast 20 mins to and from work might count

Yes any sort of movement is good. Anything beats sitting on the sofa.

I know a lot of people who walk to and from work, walk their dog twice daily or cycle daily with their kids, and they take it for granted and so don't see it as a form of exercise. Every little counts!

every little does count indeed!

Even things like walking to the shops and back (with the heavy bags!) rather than getting the car can get you as hot and sweaty as a quick jog!

Definitely. That's the kind of exercise I prefer - when you're doing jobs that need to be done but still keeping fit in the process.

I definitely think small bits of exercise make a big difference. Apparently being generally active (such as walking places, taking the stairs, etc) in the day is better for you than doing intense gym workouts and then doing nothing else all day.
