First half marathon after a sprained leg?!

Hi everyone,
Am new on here and would really appreciate some help if anyone has any time or assistance! I was training for my first half marathon at the end of September but sprained my calf muscle and hamstring (through a non-running event) and have been on crutches and done no exercise in the last six weeks.
I was comfortably running 5 miles in an hour before and on good track to be able to do the half marathon without stopping (my aim) but obviously training has been massively ruined... I went for my first jog today and managed two miles but wanted to see how my leg does the next couple days but still really want to try my best.
Is it possible to train for a half marathon in 8 weeks?! Or am I being stupid trying? If so, has any one got any fitness and/or diet tips for me please? My aim is still to try and run all of it without stopping, a friend told me this was a good aim for my first half marathon rather than a time.
Any help seriously appreciated, thanks so much :)
Honestly, I think the best thing to do in the circumstances is find another half marathon to do a bit later on. With limited time to train you're going to push yourself hard, maybe too hard on an injured leg, which is likely to result in more injury problems. There are loads of half marathons to choose from.

Yeah I think I agree, a shame but there you go! Thanks for the reply :)
Sorry to hear about the injury, I hope you're fully recovered soon and find another event to do! Good luck with your training - let us know how you get on!

Thank you! I'm going to try and start going on gentle jogs again so hopefully will be back to fitness in a few months
That sounds like a good idea. It's best to start off gently and build your training back up. Good luck!
