Pain in the top of my thigh

I have recently been suffering from a pain at the back of my thigh at the top, when I run. This is when I bring my leg forwards. There is also a click when I bring my leg up when going upstairs. have been to two osteopaths who charged me lots of money, loosened my back but the thigh pain is still there. I am reluctant to keep spending money with osteopaths. Any suggestions?
