Hi all. Wondering if anyone has a memory foam mattress. Did you buy it due to a sporting injury/general back problems?

I had one of the foam matress covers because the mattress I had at the time was so bad it was unbelievable. It really helped but I think that was in comparison. Don't think I'd fancy one now.
I bought a pocket-sprung one recently. It cost me a small fortune but it was well worth it.

We recently bought a pocket-sprung mattress with a layer of memory foam on top - it's so comfy - would definitely recommend.

I think I need to invest in one of these. I recently got a new bed and the springs dig into my back and ribs :(

I'm currently in the market for a new mattress - at the moment I have springs coming through, held back by duct tape...
So far I've no idea what to try for. I went in John Lewis and they suggested I try lying on some of them and they all seem fine (as they would for a minute or two!). Don't want to be spending silly money though.
Knowing me I'll still be in the same position in a year's time!

Buy one NOW! That sounds awful! So dangerous... How old is it!? They say that spring mattresses aren't great for your back as the pressure pushes up towards your spin, whereas a memory foam allows your body to exert pressure toward the mattress, which offers more support for your back.

Yes it's not ideal - I actually cut my back a bit one night. Must be at least 15 years old....

Oh my gosh! You really need to buy a new mattress. That can't be good for your health.

Yes, such a palaver though isn't it. Plus I've already spent a wad this month (£150 on a new kettlebell, and £250 on a chest of drawers - had to as they were ideal and a bargain)

Oh yes, buy one as soon as. Bear in mind you spend a third of your life in bed!! Spend as much as you can afford and go to a proper bed supplier if you can.
What use are kettlebells if you're too tired to do anything with them?!

I am the world's worst shopper though - I rapidly lose patience and put it off. If it was messing up my sleep I suppose I would have acted by now but haven't really noticed!

Nah it'll be the other way round! You'll get into your new bed and go "OH MY GOODNESS WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN MY WHOLE LIFE!?!" or words to that effect.

I always thought my old bed was fine, until I got one of these bad boys! It seriously is worth the money, just for how well rested you will feel every morning
Today's the day! I have the day off work - moved old bed & mattress to the door already, and they should be being picked up soon. Replacements to be delivered by John Lewis any time now (hopefully)
