Hello everyone!!!

I can't believe it - I've been on this website since March, and hadn't discovered this forum! So, a belated hello, I am Laura (the lazy...ish!) - I have a blog on here somewhere which I've been filling in religiously! Anyway, I'm 20, a student at the University of York, studying History of Art. I've only been running since March (well, I say "running", in reality it's more like "shuffling-along-occasionally-swearing-and-turning-the-colour-of-a-tomato") - I've got a charity place for the Great North Run - nothing like throwing yourself in at the deep end is there! I am so far running at about 3miles/30 min runs - but am really starting my training program "officially" from now, so hopefully I'll see some progress! I'm running for Asthma Uk, so I get to wear a beeyoootiful lime green vest, which will make me easy to spot at least (as well as the aforementioned swearing and bright-redness!) :D

Anyway, enough blathering from me, I'm off to see what other things I've missed on this website!

welcome Laura, any more pictures we could look at? Hope all your running goes well. Maybe the London marathon next year?

Hi Laura, I'm a newbie too, though I have also been looking at this site for the last 10 months, via hubby (FLM runner 07), and have just found the courage to log on myself. I'm doing the race for life this sunday (22nd) for the third year, but this year I hope to do a PB. Then next year the GNR. Then who knows !!!!!

just been told about this site.I was meant to be running in the same event as you but somehow my registration got mixed up and ah.....ah..... I am now running the Chicago Marathon instead. All because my work colleagues kind of stitched me up.
I too will be running for charity and am also attempting to train hard.I do that bit ok now but just can't find myself giving up choc biscuits and the odd pint just yet.
Am doing the bristol half marathon 9th sept then a 10k run 2 weeks later before chicago on 7th oct.
Good luck and let me know how you get on.If you have a site where I can sponsor you let me have it.Don't forget it is really worth it - I did the half last year and loved it.

Keith

That's just Micky - he's like that with everyone. Not long ago he was after my legs, so he must be desperate!
