Hi Eva

I have just joined today and saw your post.

I have entered the London marathon 2010 but doubt very much I will get a ballot place as its my first time applying. As a back up I have a place in the Brighton Marathon the week before.

I joined on here mainly because I am looking for a female running buddy that lives near Blackheath, London (i live near the heath) who would be interested in running with me, in particular the longer runs, which I am finding quite boring now being on my own. And as the majority of my training will be over dark winter mornings/evenings, a running buddy would help me along.

But even if you live miles away it would be good to here how you are getting on with your training....knowing someone understands your good and bad days sometimes makes all the difference!!!

I'm not the worlds best runner but below is a list of my PB's so you know what stage I am at;

5k -  25mins

10k - 53 mins

10 miles - 1hour 30 mins

I currently run about 20 - 25 miles a week with my longest run on a Sunday but am struggling to increase this through not only lack of time but sometimes my get up and go has got up and gone!!!

Anyway, would be good to hear from you.

Michelle

Hi All

I also entered the ballot for the first time for next years marathon and now I am as scared as anything.  I'm doing a 5K in a week's time.  I'm not unfit but I've never run before.  I'm definitely not a runner(unless its a treadmill).  And now I'm kinda scared in case I get picked and I can't do it....ahhhhhhhhh!!!

My "training" is on hold but I'd say I'd done more work for a 5K than a marathon...

Still, best of luck to you if you get picked!!!  Another runner on here told me that the atmosphere is amazing and will keep you going through the course :o)
