Being on the pill leads to better relationships?

According to today's news women who are on the pill are drawn to more reliable, faithful and "safe" (but less attractive!) partners. What do you think?

Hmm I'm not sure about this, I think I'm just as attracted to good looks when on the pill as off! However, it seems odd that they presume all reliable and faithful men are unnattractive and vice versa. I know plenty of physically unattractive men who are commitment-phobes and mess girls about, and I'm sure there are some good looking men who are reliable and "safe" too (sadly I haven't met as many of these...!)

I took some pills in a nightclub once that made EVERYONE and EVERYTHING more attractive .

I think the opposite holds true...if you are on the pill you'll feel safer (birth-control-wise) so you are more apt to "have fun" which translates to hunky, less reliable men, the sort of men you can have a no-strings attached relationship with. If you rely on condoms (although necessary to fend off the risk of sexually transmissible disease) you'll have to trust the fact that he'll use them properly! I agree there are a lot of ugly men who like bed hopping I figure this is due to the fact that if they miss out on an opportunity they don't know when another will come their way, but (unluckily) I've never found a reliable gorgeous guy!

Good looking is down to personal preferance. I'm on the pill long term because of a medical issue and in a long-term relationship. If you're taking the pill for contraceptive reasons it's more likely that you're in a relationship. Attraction is a strange thing and not necessarily down to looks. I'm very attracted to my OH physically but we're also compatible in personality. We could both be dog-ugly in someone elses opinion though :)

Who you are attracted to doesn't depend on anything but your personality, state of mind etc. The pill won't change that I don't think.

Have there been any clinical trials to suggest that it affects your taste in the opposite sex? You could go back to cave man times for a rationale maybe- lady uggs would probably go for the beefiest, hairiest man ugg to protect her and feed her!

It's a hormone thing isn't it? I read once that if you're on the pill you don't go for the 'right' men... hmmm. One thing's for sure, since coming off the pill my tolerance for booze has gone way up - I was a real cheap date when I was on it. Make of that what you will!
