Sadly I just loathe X Factor and such programmes...but I have been hearing about how awful those twins are from friends who like the show and obviously the net(Simon Cowell says it will be disaster if they win and all that...)

Here's hoping that the two of them win then which will prove it's just a glorified karaoke popularity competition and nothing to do with actual talent.

I don't like X Factor and other such programs. I have perfomed karaoke in the past (and I'd like to think that although I'm not exactly Pavarotti, my performances are at least passable). Some of the karaoke performances I have seen are lamentable - and some of the 'performers' probably think they are Pavarotti - and a lot of the X Factor etc ones aren't much better. Simon Cowell may be rather tactless sometimes, but he does speak the truth.

Let's hope they sound the death noll for such programmes. Cheap, low rent TV that mirrors the dumbing down of our society. Everyone wants to be known or to be famous - the Jade Goody effect - remember when kids wanted to be fireman, doctors or nurses?? If you have talent, play the clubs and do it that way. Pesonally, I hope they do win it - the underdog aspect prevails despite the fact that I don't watch it - plus it would undermine Simon Cowell's attempts for world domination - he's in league with Boris, Clarkson and Tesco so be very careful...

I'm proud to say I haven't watched any of this series, and have enjoyed every minute without it! These 2 'twits' are spoiling the front page of the metro this morning, what a couple of chumps! With all the stars that attended that function last night why on earth would you lead with these 2 mediocre wannabees?!

I thought that John and Edward was everything that Mr Cowell 'despised'

So what other shocking twin combinations have we had to suffer in the past? The only good ones were the Proclaimers.

What about them 2 Russian girls who dressed in school uniforms, and were apparently lesbians, were they twins? i was in school at the time so bit of not the worst thing i'd ever seen at the time, still a bit of a farce though really

What about Bros. Probably the last twin pairing to make it really big.

Two of the Bee Gees (Robin and Maurice) were twins. And they had something that Jedward and Bros manifestly did not have - it was ... oh it will come to me in a minute ... TALENT!!!

Anyone remember those two twins who used to be in Neighbours who tried to carve out a music career - Gillian and Gayle Blakeney. they were a bit better to look at than those singing Pineapple-headed twins.
