What sound or noise do you hate?

The one I'm hearing right now - sellotape. There's a group of people in my office taping up a load of boxes with old files in - the boxes have been retrieved from a storage facility and people are deciding if the files can be pulped - exactly why they're doing it in my office I don't know.

Spoogie37, as named by The Style Council - not the pop group but some strange woman I used to work with who wanted to put me on the Trinny and Susannah show.

Forks scraping plates

People 'smacking their chops' when eating (particularly those eating chewing gum usually with their mouths open... a particular hate of mine)

People eating crunchies (the honeycomb chocolate bar, ugh!)

The diet always starts tomorrow, but tomorrow never comes!!

The noise of degus gnawing their bed box at night and endlessly scratching/attempting to dig on the metal base of their cage. Arrrgh!

I hate the sound of balloons being rubbed, agh! Sets my teeth right on edge. Sometimes you get a child doing it in the shops somewhere & I just have to get out of there before I run over and pop the bloody thing! (Can you imagine the response! Embarassed )

Screeching children or babies with their incessant whining on a damn bus or train or plane...my God...Yell most of the others you have mentioned are quite apt too.
