OK - I know that those are two really great things to do, but since I am coming from so far away, and since I have not been to Napa/Sonoma before, I'd love to learn what else you can do while there? Hiking? Biking? Shopping? Good restaruants? Please: DO TELL!

Besides fantastic wine, there are tons of restaurants that have food commensurate with the wine.
Other stuff (with some help from Mrs Foggy)
Outlet shopping (Guess who suggested this?)
You are close to the Mendocino Coast (more wine country) with fantastic scenery, hiking etc.
You are close to everything else in the Bay Area (Sonoma is only about 1 1/2 hours from San Francisco except at rush hour) which means you can do just about anything.
Nearby Casinos
Companies that do Hot Air Balloon Rides.
etc. etc.
Also you are close to the best trail running around (See Marin County)

The beach in Santa Barbara is amazing. There are fun and nice resturants there. I also hear that Bacara - the spa resort in north Santa Barbara is really great - expensive, but worth it.
I'm planning on some R&R in Santa Barbara and some great beach sitting!

How about AA meetings? Any of those in the vicinity, for those of us who do not imbibe?
There are indeed plenty of meetings for those who do not/cannot imbibe. There is a list here [santabarbaraaa.com].

Thank you, DustRunner. Are there any attractions in this area that do not revolve around drinking? I'm sure there are a lot of them. What I'm actually asking is this: What are some interesting things to do that do not involve drinking?
