Acai is supposed to be really good for aiding weight loss and detoxifying. I recently bought a large bottle of it from the health store (the one that you add to your drink).
Has anyone been using this for a while? What do you think?

Hi Laura, I've heard that it's good for detoxifying as well, I still haven't tried it though what does it taste like?

Hiya! The one I'm drinking at the moment, i dilute it with juice or water so I'm not too sure what it tastes like to be honest. I have tried the one that you drink straight from the carton from Holland and Barrett (think it's in a purple carton) and that was quite nice but I can't really explain the taste. Kind of like a... musty berry, if that makes any sense ahah, x x

So not a really unpleasant taste then- I might just give that I go!

Yep it's not too bad. If you get the one you dilute with drinks, you don't taste it at all :)

I wan ted to but I haven’t seen any in our place, I just read about it on the web. I already searched the nutritional benefits of this fruit and its more likely safe. It’s good as antioxidant that may help reduce risk of heart attack and cancer. Just a caution though, if you have pollen allergy or sensitivity to Acai, I suggest you avoid it.

What is it? Another of these new super foods?
Apparently the fresh berry isn't any better for you than most other berries, and the process of turning into juice or powders which are sold in health food stores can strip nutrients further. If it tastes nice though guess it's good as an alternative to some other drinks!

Yes goldenboi, it's another superfood! The antioxidant qualities mean that it fights cancer, slows down aging, and helps with cardiac functioning and blood circulation, which is good for those suffering from any kind of inflammation or arthritis. It also aids weight loss.

This sounds like some sort of miracle, surely? It sounds too good to be true. In essense, all of mother nature's offerings are amazing in what they can do for us though
Every stitch is like a little hug
It does seem like a miracle. We always spend so much on expensive lotions and potions without realising that mother nature (the legend) has already invented most of this stuff for free!

In my experience anything that claims to be a quick and easy miracle cure is usually a load of rubbish.
Yes I agree. I think Acai is really good to drink for it's health benefits, but I don't think we should expect the weight to drop off after we've had a few glasses!

It would be amazing if it did though!
