Is red meat really bad for us? Who avoids it completely? Or how much do you eat a week?

i've heard it takes days to digest steak properly, I think fish is much more easily digested.

Personally, I believe everything in moderation. Red meat actually offers nutrition that we need, such as iron and protein to name a few. However, if eaten in excess, you are looking at the start of possible chronic disease. Also, here in the states there has been so much talk about how the meat is being processed and what the animals are consuming prior to be slaughtered which is being linked to other diseases...
Anyhow, I personally don't think that eating meat is really bad for us, there are worst things that folks are putting into their bodies than meat. As for my own personal consumption, I only eat red meat hmmm maybe every 6-8 weeks? I just don't particularly like the taste of it...although I do have my moments when I want a steak or a big fat juicy cheeseburger. :)

Excess Red Meat is not good for your body as it is associated with an increased risk of total, cardiovascular, and cancer mortality. There are lot other substitues for Proteins such as fish, poultry, nuts, and legumes.
Vitamins are good for your body.

I hear it's not great for us. I tend to eat it once a week, which is not 100% healthy but I think once a week is fine. It's when you eat it every day that you start to suffer
Every food have its own plus points and minus points. so this also applied on the red meat too.
Red meat today, unless you are buying organic, is not the same as it was years ago. Due to growth hormones and other additives you have to really ask yourself how you feel when you eat meat as everyone has a different reaction to it along with fruits and veg. Red meat contains amino acids and apparently you cannot achieve this thru just eating veg or fruit so you must take a tablet supplement to compensate for not eating red meat. It also contains iron, but so does other food items so really its a personal choice. This growth hormone is said to cause girls to reach puberty some at the age of eight - after they drink milk or eat red meat. Small portions of low fat protein are required for you to have a balanced diet. Eating meat every day - i would think moderation would be the key but my doctor told me i would have to quit eating red meat after i went thru my operation for colon cancer - despite the fact that i never eat red meat and he also said for me to eat more vegetables - since i eat so many vegetables, i had to question that maybe all those veg that i eat instead of meat might have caused more harm to me cause I failed to check if there were organic. I just know carcinagen is what feeds cancer along with fermented foods.. So grilling your meat until its burnt is apparently not good for you - also fermented drinks (beer - cider - spirits) well its what your body decides to allow - it can kill or cure you - I just know injecting any animal or spraying any veg or fruit so it can be bigger, produce more or look better has to have a reverse affect on the person consuming it. Eating real - not processed is good but even when you know the food is real do you know what has been put in the soil or fed to it to get it to the market for sale. Stress alone will kill you - Self Awareness is your key. Check out what you are eating and decide if it meets your standard.. If you owned an expensive sports car you certainly would not put bad fuel into its engine - so put the best into your choices and you will run smoothly hopefully for the next few hundred thousand miles.
