Hi All,
I have recently signed up to run the Reading Half marathon 2011, as it is only 5months away I need to get training!
This is the first marathon I will be running and have previously only done 5k races, I have been looking through training programmes online and have a good idea of how I need to progress over the next few weeks but if anyone can give me any tips I would really appreciate it....
Thank you
You will be fine!! I started running in July this year - ran my first half in Sept and my second last week! Everyone tells me the crowds carry you the last three miles and this is true. I was so worried before my first one, and then on my second, because I knew what to expect I loved it!
Make sure you can run at least eight miles in the four weeks before the event, pack some jelly babies (not all marshalls give them out and they provide a great boost after about six miles).
Most importantly - HAVE FUN!
