Any suggestions for healthy Christmas recipes?

How about swapping your pigs wrapped in blankets for devils on horseback? Still fatty but not as much so! (And still oh-so-delicious)

I love carrot sticks with dips instead of cripss. Much fresher. And add some grapes to nibble on too.

rpast chestnuts are low in fat and you can always swap cheese based dips for tomato ones. Another good trick is to serve open top mince pies

You could have turkey with a warm apple and lentil salad

Or how about poached pears with a warm cranberry sauce instead of a slice of chocolate yule log?

I always enjoy snacking on dried fruit and nuts at Christmas, instead of chocolate and mince pies.

Or how about a salad made with walnuts, red cabbage and rosemary?

That sounds lovely! A pea and ham soup would be relatively healthy too and it tastes fabulous

I love roast chestnuts, and love that they're so low in fat!

Does anyone know how to roast chestnuts?

Mark a cross on them with a knife, then put in the oven (on a roasting/baking tin) for about 30 mins.

I was out in a restaurant the other day and they had roasted chestnut soup on the menu, i didn't get i, but would like to have tried it

That sounds very festive. I'm planning on making rocky road (not very healthy, I know) but if I make it festive and add nuts and cranberries it will be slightly healthier!

Never heard of roast chestnut soup, sounds interesting

What's your favourite christmas soup? I love ham and pea

Broccoli and Stilton, although, only half of that is healthy! (But broccoli is a superfood so maybe that makes up for the Stilton...?)

I like that logic, broccoli and stilton is a great one

butternut squash soup is yum. Can take or leave chesnuts. Normally do sauteed brussells with chessnuts and red onion.

I need a recipe that uses up smoked salmon - didn't eat any of it on Christmas morning and now I have loads left.
