I keep thinking I should eat more fish to get more omega-3 fatty acids in my diet but I don't have any good recipes. Does anyone have any nice recipes for salmon or tuna?
If you can afford it tuna steaks are great with some new potatoes, spinach, rocket and olive oil dressing. for salmon, I really like fish cakes. I'm not a great fish lover but these recipes are tasty
Most fish is great if it's wrapped up in a foil package with lemon juice and herbs and oven-baked until it's flaking. Takes about 15-20mins. Tarragon and parsley are good herbs for white fish, I really like oven baked salmon with lemon juice, chilli, garlic and mixed herbs. I tend to serve it simply with salad but new potatoes do work well with fish.
Oven baking is a less smelly way of cooking fish too, fresh fish shouldn't smell but it can leave an interesting smell in the kitchen.
Simple is best with fish, mackerel is a really tasty oily fish and cheaper than tuna and salmon. Only fresh tuna has omega 3's, tinned doesn't (if you were thinking of using tinned).
Kippers are very cheap if you have the stomach for them, nice on toast with scrambled eggs.
If you don't like fish much, ground flaxseed or flaxseed oil (also known as linseeds) will provide you with omega 3's. Dollop into your breakfast or gulp down a spoonful of oil, tastes a little bit minging but washes down well with a mouthful of orange juice. Just don't burp for 30mins after ;)
See you later

I had tuna steak the other night with salmon mash and runner beans - it was one of the nicest meals I'd had in ages, so if you can afford them then that'd be a great way to get more omega-3 fatty acids in your diet.
