I am looking for a healthy pizza recipe. Any suggestions?

Open up some wholemeal pittas and spread with tomato puree, mushrooms, peppers, sweetcorn and a light grating of cheese or a crumble of feta, then grill and serve with salad!

On the occasions we have pizza we do ours from scratch using wholegrain flour then we top with tomato puree that's been mixed with hot chillis and garlic. We then add dried mixed herbs, a slight sprinkle of cheddar and some fresh chorizo slices and top with sliced tomatoes and red/yellow peppers. I also serve with mixed salad leaves as a general rule and cucumber, tomato or beetroot if we have it. Add more fruit/veg for a leaner version and top with ham or chicken if you don't want to use pepperoni or chorizo!
I think there was a pizza thread a while ago which had a crushed cauliflower base instead of bread, it sounded interesting.

Yum I like the sounded of turning pitta bread into pizzas -that would be really quick too! I might try making that tonight!

We make them occasionally on pittas if it's a snacky midday pizza, but tend to make it from scratch as we like a super thin, crispy base. The pittas can be a bit squashy, even if they're pre-grilled. They are very quick to make though!
