i ran in the cleveland marathon this year (09) and i was told that the race would have music and live rock bands along the course. There was'nt any music at ALL!
OK CLEVELAND is where the Rock Hall is, there are rock & roll marathons all over the country,no rock & roll marathon should be bigger than Clevelands Race.
I ran the race and i loved the course, fans and a beautiful city but i hope next year when i run the race there is REAL CLEVELAND EXPERIENCE!
Hi Phil6677,
We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the new course and that there was good fan support out there as well.
With regards to the music, we would just like to advise that there were in fact 12 different music stations playing songs on the course that were voted upon and selected by the runners themselves. In addition to these, there were also 8 groups who volunteered and performed along the course. These groups included high school bands from St. Edwards and St. Ignatius, individual drummers including John Adams from the Cleveland Indians, and various other local musical talents.
Depending upon event and finish time, runners may have received different experiences with regards to which performers and stations they heard. Each year we work hard to try to improve and increase the performer participation in our event to make the Cleveland Experience the best it can be.
Thank you for your feedback and we hope to see you again next year!
