hi! So i just recently really got into running. I signed up for the half marathon and I'm very excited! However, I'm worried I may have to take a few breaks and walk during the race. Is that ok? I'm not in it to win, I just want to finish!

I would tell you not to worry about taking breaks by walking.  I think the key is to just keep moving.  Also, I would reccomend not trying to dink water on the run, defintely walk for that.  You won't lose that much time, and drinking on the run can lead it gulping to much air, possibly leading to belching or other GI issues.  Good Luck!

There is absolutely no problem with walking! In fact a lot of beginners or injured runners do a planned 'run/walk, where they run for 5 or 10 minutes and walk for 1 minute, during the race. This has in fact shown to allow slower runners to finish faster with less strain on their legs. If you've only started recently, the most important thing is to build up mileage very slowly. Good luck with the race!
