Best marathon in Toronto

I hear that this race is THE marathon in Toronto to run – anybody want to pipe in why?

Having done both, STWM seems to be gaining momentum in terms of media attention (live CBC broadcast last year), more international talent eg last year's finish was an exciting duel to claim the fastest time on Canadian soil bonus money. The neighbourhood challenge concept results in more music/fan support along the way and i personally prefer this course although the October marathon route is ok too. I just think it has more buzz which makes it fun to be a part of. Very well organized.

Toronto International Marathon is slowly dying, and Mississauga cannot compete in terms of organization, sponsors and media exposure.

Not to echo what the Russian guy said, but I have been a spectator at the Toronto International, and it has indeed gotten noticeably smaller as of the last one.
