Oh dear! I am really nervous about this race! My stomach is acting up, and I'm shaking!!
Can someone give me some tips on how to beat the pre-race nervous jitters? Please?

This is how I beat those anxieties: I visualize the race. I watch myself running and crossing the finish line. I picture myself running easily, and even picture myself in what I will be wearing. I picture my family standing right where they will be standing and picture them waving and screaming as I pass them. I picture what I will see when I cross the finish line as well as how I will feel at that moment.
I'm not sure why it works for me, but it does.

I also visualize stuff to keep the anxiety at bay.
When it becomes a problem, I take time out, close my eyes, and visualize me starting perfectly. Then running, perfectly. Etc.
Though I never run "perfectly" the imagining of it helps immensely.
