Hi this is my first marathon and I am starting running from scratch...'Yes' from Couch to marathon in 10 months. Anybody else's first marathon ? I bet i'm the most unfit person ever to be embarking on this. hahahahaha ! Let me know how you're getting on?
taking this crazy idea when watching the London marathon ...thinking 'I want that to be me' and running with it.(update: achieved!)
Time for an update; how is it going?
This will be my 3rd LM; ran 2008 and 9. I only got into the Sense team fairly late having not run much in December. January has been a bit of a disaster but I'm hoping to run 14 miles tomorrow for the first time since mid November. Let's hope we say good bye to the snow and ice soon!
Happy Running!

Dear Hop along, Hi there, good to hear from you, I haven't heard off anyone else running for Sense, well done bering your 3rd marathon though. Why was your january a disaster? Well things were going really well for me, I have been training since mid Sept, I started following a 10k plan then progressed to a 20 week marathon plan. and got up to a half marathon last Sunday (Watford Half) but I pulled my groin, silly me thought it would be ok but when i ran my LSR yesterday it came back to me after 6 miles. stupidly i went on to complete the 14miles I hobbled the last 5 miles! . Regretting it now and depressed as my groin aches, I don't know what to do! I can't run. We only have 10 weeks. I'm devestated.
Anyway let me know if you have any experience of this.
Otherwise if I do make it, I have booked my place for the after-marathon party at Grace bar with Sense (it seems to be quite a way away from the finish???!!!)
Where do you live? I'm in N.W London, so may be going to the SENSE Hyde park training day 27th March (If I recover)
I went to 'Meet the Experts' and thought it was fab
How's your training, what sort of time are you looking for?
Take care
Julie

Hi I am running for Sense also! There are a few more of us on their facebook page too, some good comments etc on there also.
This will be my first marathon and I just want to get to that finish line! Have done a few halfs etc but this is it!!! I think my time will be 5hrs something.
Training going well, no major injury issues just the usual niggles, although it is taking me longer to recover now the long runs are building, I will be trying 14 miles this saturday! Slightly nervous, but have got the brilliant support from my hubby and kids!
Have raised £1000 so far and a race night planned for the 10th April and a few other things, hows everyone else doing with the money element!
Julie I would get yourself along to a sports physio, get it sorted ASAP, 10 weeks is still plenty of time, but look after yourself. It is expensive but money well spent, I see mine every 2 weeks just to keep on top of things so they dont develop into something major.
Where are the details of the training day, was it in a newsletter I have missed? That would be great to meet up with some fellow runners.
Well maybe just one more go!!!!

Hi,
Sorry to have been off-line for so long. Been really busy!
Julie,
How are you getting on? I do hope your injury has healed.
Lucymay,
Here are the details of the training day:
Training day - Saturday 27 March 2010
- Simon has kindly offered to help us organise this exclusive training day which will be held in London Hyde Park.
- This is a great opportunity to meet up with fellow Sense runners, take part in a training run between 4 and 20 miles in the morning, have some lunch together in the London Hyde Park Hotel on Bayswater Road and get some advice from our expert.
- If you would like to attend this fantastic day, please e-mail Lindsey at lindsey.telfer@sense.org.uk to confirm your attendance.
