Excited about The Rugby World Cup?

I'm an ex rugby playing marathon runner. Getting very excited about the Rugby World Cup! Only a week away!

Although I'm an England supporter I love Fijian rugby too.  What chance has any northern hemisphere team realistically got this year?!  Are there any dark horses out there (worth an outside bet)?!

A friend just told me he senses an upset at the group stage with Wales beating SA!

I'm not really a big rugby follower, but I always enjoy a big event like the world cup, so I will probably watch some of it! I also love a good upset so it'll be good if your friend is right

Only 14 entries in Champagne Predictor so far!!

You'll have an interest in every game and it'll only cost you £3 to WaterAid. That's gotta be worth it!

If you like the look of it PLEASE forward it to anyone you think might be interested!

Thanks

Bruce

I'm not an avid watcher of the Six Nations but do tend to watch the RWC when it comes around. You suspect the victors are going to be Australia or New Zealand. South Africa's squad is pretty old now and past their peak.

I really hope it's an exciting final, and not just one of those two teams battering someone

The Rugby World Cup still suffers from a lack of strength in depth so that there are too many meaningless games with the established rugby playing nations coming up against minnows. It's not until the knock out phase that it gets really interesting, although you occasionally get a tasty group game such as the Wales/South Africa game at the weekend.

I enjoy watching the games, but not appreciating the early morning starts

True, most of what I've watched so far hasn't been great, maybe I'll tune back in when it gets to crunch time towards the end.

Let them get the preliminaries out of the way and then we can all settle back for the real contests. A defeat in the group stages does not mean elimination so there's plenty of opportunity for a side like Wales to go through even though they lost their opening match.

The Tonga vs. Canada match this morning was actually really good! Canada came back from behind to win 25-20

Yeah that was a great match actually, nice surprise to watch with my breakfast!

Going to watch that tonight then. Anyone looking forward to England's game? Any predictions?

I'm not a huge rugby fan, but watched the Ireland vs. Australia game on Saturday and was glued to the screen. Anyone else enjoy it?

It was amazing wasn't it! Such an effort from the Irish, must have given them buckets of confidence for the rest of the tournament.

It's going to be interesting to see who makes the final, Ireland certainly have a strong chance

I don't know about a strong chance, other teams will be a lot more wary of them now.

You're right, don't know if they will be able to pull of another upset because of this.
