So what has everyone been watching so far in the Olympics? I'm currently in the phase at the start of the Olympics where I'll literally watch any sport I can, but no doubt the novelty will soon wear off! So far I've watched quite a lot of swimming, some rowing, both the road races, tennis, judo (didn't have a clue what was going on) and the football.

Where do you think the first gold will come from for Team GB?

I'm a convert to the sport of Handball - looks a great game Smile.

Outside chance of our first gold today in the Team Eventing Equestrian...GB currently lying in the silver medal position!

Two golds in the bag, hopefully they'll come in thick and fast now!

Fingers crossed. Really great day yesterday. What other hopefuls are there?

Bit of a gold-fest yesterday, as well as a very unexpected silver in the judo (still no idea what is going on when I watch judo). Did anyone see the Chinese team being bumped down from gold to silver in the women's sprint cycling? Must have been horrible for them, they had about 15 minutes of interviews thinking they'd got the gold, only to find they'd performed an illegal overtake and were relegated to silver!

Looking forward to seeing Beth take to the uneven bars today - is it me of have they just renamed them for these games?

I've never paid much attention to the gymanstics so not sure! Did everyone watch the 100m last night? Great to see Bolt winning again, although he didn't quite jog over the line this time.

Here is a really interesting graphic that shows all of the 100m winners since the very first Olympics, it's crazy how far the time has come on over the years:

Hey there, really interesting post, thankyou.

I think Bolt is amazing, he has such a brilliant running style, with great posture. I have always looked up to him, and I think it's great he won. :)

It really is crazy how times have changed, thankyou for sharing, I went to a museum at the weekend and they had a display of olympics through the ages and an old film footage of an olympic games with tug of war. I wonder where that dissapeared!! :)

Haha crazy isn't it the kind of events they used to have. At the last London Olympics in 1948 there were even medals for poetry and painting! Maybe in years to come people will look back at these Olympics and think some of the events are strange?

You mean like dressage? Really fail to get my head round that one.

Haha no way painting and poetry! that's so random, and in no way physical.  I wonder when the Olympic games just became about physical skill

Weirdly enough, I actually really enjoy watching dressage! Don't ask me why...

He was fantastic on Saturday in the relay - Blake's amazing too! Sad that it's all over now - was a lovely 2 and a half weeks!

The biggest heroes are yet to come - don't be sad it's over Carly - we've got Oscar Pistorious x '000's to look forward to Smile. The Paralympians are amazing - surely no-one has better overcome the limitations imposed on them by their own bodies than these truly inspirational athletes? Watch them and then try saying "but I can't".

Yesterday was my first visit to London since the end of the Games - if felt a little quiet, what a Summer huh?

Posted 20.09.12, 4:47pm

Yeah it was great, I hope more positive things come our way, because I'm sure it gave the country a massive positivity boost

I couldn't agree more. It united us I think. Everyone had a spring in their step and we all had something to chat about and things in common -even with strangers! Brilliant summer.

I'm still missing all the sport of this summer, football just isn't cutting it for me. All this stuff with diving in the premier league at the moment just goes to show it's nowhere near the level of integrity of the Olympics.
