Fun active Xmas Day

Do you do anythign active as a family or with friends over Christmas? I get bored just sitting around and wondered what other people get up to?

We usually go a walk after dinner, before pudding! (To make room for it!) We've bought a dog since last Christmas so we will have a fun walk with him this year! Failing that, we usually play games!

That sounds great. We love by a beach so normally go for a walk along there, although this year we're going to my boyfriends and they normally do an xmas day run. Not sure I'd go that far though.

You could play some active games like man hunt or a treasure hunt perhaps

A treasure hunt sounds like loads of fun and is something everyone could join in on

You'd be surprised how many calories you burn playing games -all that excitment and competition! It gets your heart rate going too! Any other Xmas game suggestions?

We tend to get new games for the Wii which always tends to be pretty active - last year was Just Dance 2 and I think we're getting the new one this year. We all got so competitive at winning that we actually changed into gym kit - my dress was holding me back!

I love playing on the Wii at Christmas with the family, last year we had a tournament on Wii Sports, I think I lost!

I think I would too to be honest, but the main thing is that you did something as a family, which was active too!

I went snow boarding last year on Christmas day which was amazing! 

Same, but it is a recipe for disaster when you get 2 competitive family members against each other!

Are you Scottish?

I'm generally ultra competitive but I think it was my grandma who won the tournament and I wasn't going to get competitive with an old lady haha. Luckily I'm the only competitive one in my family too so there aren't too many arguments!

I'm not competitve at all, I just like having fun and taking part. We played the 'blindfolded key game' the other day at home and it was just so funny!

What's the 'blindfolded key game'?

I've played this before too... someone sits blindfolded on a chair with a bunch of keys on the floor beneath them. Each person in the room takes it in turn to remove the keys without the seated person hearing. The winner is the person who successfully retrieves the keys without making a sound!

Never heard of this, I don't think I'd be much good at it, I'm too clumsy so not good at doing things quietly!
