Congratulations on becoming a member of Sue Ryder's 2011 London Marathon team, Fiona and I are very enthusiastic about this year's team.
This forum is here for you to share your training and fundraising stories with each other, so who's going to be the first off the mark??
We hope you enjoy the Training Zone and find it helpful for your London Marathon journey.
Happy Training!
Jemma
Hi all
I was so pleased to get Jemma's call to say my application had been successful to run the London Marathon for Sue Ryder Care. My training starts this weekend...I'm going for the 'slowly but surely' approach! I understand from Jemma that there are a few people from the Bedford area who will be running for Sue Ryder Care. I live in Sandy and it would be great to have a running group/meet up to break up the running on my own! So if you fancy it (beginner/intermediate level) then let me know! Good luck with the training everyone!

Like Emma, I was "chuffed to bits" at being accepted. I thought that was the hard bit, but now I've started training I realise I was wrong....getting to the start line will be the hardest bit.
I suppose I'm fortunate in that, living in Tenerife, I dont have to battle the elements most days just to train. However, there isn't a flat piece of surface upon which to run....so the old heart rate monitor is working overtime on the hills.
Good luck everyone. See you in London

Hello everybody!
Would just like to start by saying thank you to the Sue Ryder Team for accepting my application to run for the London Marathon next year! So far the team have been very helpful in supporting me and answering any questions that I have had - Jemma in particular has been great :)
With regards to training, I've been running / jogging for around 2 months now and ran my first 10 miles last night! I'm not going to lie my legs are aching this morning!
I'll be going for 15 miles in a week or two - can't wait!
I live in North London so if there are any runners nearby let me know, it'll be nice to meet up & get to know the team!
Good luck everyone!
