A lot of people from the UK on here saying a lot of stuff about the US! Mostly good... Some not so. So to balance it out, where have you guys all been in the good ole USA and where is your favorite US city?

I've been to a fair few states - fave is definitely Florida though - love it there. Going to New Orleans later this year - really excited to go there!

California - the drive from LA to San Fran is pretty awesome.

I've only ever been to Florida but it was amazing, loved visiting all the theme parks!

I have been all over the states. My top 3 cities are...

1. San Diego - Stunning beaches, relaxed atmosphere and nice people.

2. Chicago- Really friendly people

3. San Francisco- Did not like it at first but the more I go back the more I fall in love!

Bottom 3.

1. Washington- Nothing much to do.

2. New York- Great shopping, Unfriendly, living in London i find it similar.

3. LA- Dont like the city at all. A real let down.

I've been to New York and LA and agree LA is pretty boring. NY I found really cool though. Greta atmosphere, awesome art scene, fantastic food and culture. I found the people a mixed bag. Some of them were really stuck up and others impersonal but I found some really friendly.

You named three cities which along with Boston I really want to visit. Seattle too actually.

I'm a new New Yorker! Unfriendly? New Yorkers? Fugedaboutit!!!!!!!! They love the Brits & I'm loving the city that never sleeps. NYC Taxi drivers are pants though! Makes you appreciate the British Cabbie! I salute them and "the knowledge"!

Only other problem are the sample sales - amazing value designer goods that spring up just before new season is launched and only those well connected fashionistas get to hear about! Well, the receptionist at our office told me about a sample sale between 7th and 8th Avenue's yesterday. I had to queue to get into the sale after work and after about 45 minutes outside got into the sale. I happened upon a Dolce & Gabbana Blazer but before I could say D&G, 4 women pushed me out of the way and starting fighting for it - literally tooth and nail I walked away with nothing to add to to my look but bruises from my fellow shoppers. It's hardcore in this hood.

That sounds totally terrifying. Really want to get back over to new york. With girlfriend in tow this time.

That really is hardcore (and just like what you see in an American films)!

I'd love to go back to New York - so many things to see and so many beautiful shops - not sure I could handle sample sales though...

Haha that does sound a bit scary! Reminds me of in 'Friends' where they're fighting for Monica's wedding dress. Would be good to do some shopping in New York though.

Totally agree with you on LA - it's a car park not a city

the lesser known Cincinnati is my favourite...great weather, good range of shops and you don't have to get a taxi everywhere....beautiful suburbs and watching a baseball game capped off a great three weeks..

I NYC - I loved everything about it!

New York is cool but agree with the guy who trashed them for being unfriendly. They're reknown for it, but then the city is pretty cool so you can see why they'd be snooty.

I've never really fancied New York, I'm not massively into shopping and it seems so big on culture with all the museums and art galleries... I just don't think I'm cultured enough for New York!

I don't fancy New York either. I prefer beachy places really. San Diego looks nice.

Me too, or Miami

Posted 26.10.11, 10:16am

I'd love to go to San Diego or Hawaii next. I'd like to go and see Mount Rushmore too, but not sure what else there is to do in South Dakota.

Hawaii would be ace. I'd like to take hula dancing lessons
