I've found some cheap flights to go to Cuba next year - has anyone been?

How cheap are we talking? Wouldn't mind going myself!

The missus wants us to go there. She's been before and loved it.

I think they're about £300 ish, but I think there's dates you have to go between, I'll find out and let you know

Not yet, but I spoke to some people who've been and they weren't overly too fussed on it, and said they wouldn't go back again...

Ah that's a real shame. I have some friends that lived there for 6 months and they absolutely raved about it. Got to be done at some point, especially if you are ever in that part of the world. Havana looks like a place that time forgot.

Yeah I thought Cuba sounded pretty good! But some of my friends went and didn't rate it at all, they thought Havana was pretty run down - a definite place time forgot.

I'm not sure whether I'd fancy Cuba, but I know a few people who've been there and they all loved it, said it was just so different from the places they were used to visiting.

Was there alot to do there? Or do you tend to just stay in the resorts? I know a fair few people who've done all inclusives and just used the resort facilities.

The people I know who went there said there was quite a bit to do outside of the resorts, they went on a trip to Havana and up in the mountains in these old russian army trucks, and they visited the Che Guevara Mausoleum and a cigar factory. Also they said there's quite a bit to see around the place such as all the old cars. Apparently it's quite interesting.

That sounds cool. How long did they go for?

Two weeks I think. It sounds like quite an interesting place, I generally end up just sunbathing on holiday so would be nice to go somewhere a bit interesting.

I want to get over to cuba before it becomes completely sanitized and tourist friendly to see a little bit of the cuba of Guevara and Castro. I fear I may already be a little too late though. Plus cocktails and latin food. Yes please!
