The unnatural made natural

I've always heard of the Northern Lights, but I just looked at these photos, I can't believe that this natural wonder can look so unnatural. Has anyone seen this in person? http://tgr.ph/nfruek

They look so odd! If I saw that in a film I'd be complaining that the special effects look like they were made in the 80's!

I find that natural things do often look unnatural. When I look at some junk food, like a slushi or an icecream, I think "uurghh it's such an unnatual colour that can't be good for me". But actually natural things are this colour, just think of avocados

Wow, guess it does look a bit unnatural, but looks ace! Would love to see the northern lights!!

I am from Finland and have seen them in Lapland - thinking of doing a PhD there one day! Imagine seeing them everyday - magic! :)

That would be incredible, how did you feel when you saw the, glyin_finn?

Seeing them in person is definitely something I need to do in my lifetime

Me too. What other things do you really want to see? I want to go and see the Grand Canyon.

Id love to see the Northern Lights and the Grand Canyon would be amazing. If I ever went to Vegas again I'd definitely do a helicopter tour over there.

That would be amazing! Finland is my number one place I want to visit. I'm planning on going to Rovaneimi in Lapland this December.

Why finland? Of all the Scandanavian countries I'd go to Norway or Sweden first I think. Although I've got friedns in both which helps.

I think I have an affinity with Finland. They love Christmas (my fave thing in the entire world) in a big way (there are 8 seasons in Rovaneimi and one of them is Christmas... a whole Christmas season!!). Also, they named a square in Finland and a cola after their band that won the Eurovision, and anywhere that shows that much love for the Eurovision Song Content is somewhere where I want to be!

On top of that they have Santa themed theme parks, husky dogs, reindeers, an ice village and the Northern lights... What's not to love??

Eurovision is never a reason to like something!!

I am going to thumbs down that comment! Eurovision is the best reason to like something! It is literally the highlight of my TV-viewing year

If you would like to start a thumbs down war I am more than ready for it!

I love the euro parties! they remind me of something from the 80's, I can just imagine tiny little flags sticking out of tiny little volivonts

Haha - that sounds great! I'd love to go to a Eurovision party! Does Terry Wogan still do the commentary?
