I've never been to a Christmas market. Do they have any good ones in the north west of England? Like Liverpool/Chester/Manchester sort of places?
Manchester have some fabuluous christmas markets. usually 4 or 5 on at the same time scattered around the city. They are a great day out, lovely and festive, with lots of nice food from around the world, mulled wine and lots of lovely often handmade gifts for Christmas presents.
If you google christmas markets manchester then yous hould be able to find out when they are on, usually from towards the end of November.

The Birmingham ones open on the 18th November this year - can't bloomin' wait! They have loads of foods and drinks stalls (I had some really nice hot chocolate with Bailey's there last year), then lots of little stands where you can buy gifts - I always come back feeling really festive after it!

Ah that does sound really nice. I will have to check it out. I've got the festive feeling already!

They had some really nice cheese skewer stands with nice veg too - was really good! I can't wait for Christmas now - the end of November is my acceptable time to start getting festive - so only a month to go yay!

Can't wait for Halloween as I love dressing up! Will be donning a white wig and white contacts this year!
Don't worry, be happy :-D
I went to a masquerade party this weekend which was kind of for Halloween too - although no-one really looked scary, except one person who put in creepy contact! Really excited about bonfire night next weekend now!

I love bonfire night. I love getting all wrapped up and going to see some fireworks with the family, eating toffee.
Every stitch is like a little hug
Me too! Love watching all the fireworks - hope there's some good ones this year!

had a tasty toad in the hole yesterday (not healthy, but hey ho) and it got me excited for bonfire night!
I love toad in the hole - did you make it yourself?

I'm not a huge fan of Christmas markets, I always end up getting caught up in the whole spirit of the thing and spending more money than I should on stuff I don't event need!
Awww no - you can't hate Christmas markets! Try again this year, but only buy edible and drinkable items!
The Christmas market at Bath is excellent. We make it a weekend break. I'm not much of a shopper but I can manage an evening there with some touristy bits thrown in the next day for good measure. Some of my lot are going to Birmingham as well this year. I hear that's very good. I absent myself from that as I just wouldn't have thde stamina or the interest as they basically go for the whole day. Bath and Brum both offer loads to eat and drink, which makes it a bit more interesting provided you haven't got to drive home afterwards...which i don't
