London shows

I'm off to London in a few weeks and would really like to go and see a show - any recommendations on good ones to see?
Go and see the Lion King at the Lyceum. I got my tickets on the day from one of those reseller booths. Was about £35 per ticket which wasn't too bad. Awesome sets and costumes and the performers weren't too bad either. Loved the hyenas.

I went to see oliver with Rowan Atkinson as Fagan. Was really, really good.
I've been to see Phantom of the Opera, which was really good. I'd really like to see the Lion King, it looks fab!
What did you think of Phantom then? That's the next show the missus has got lined up for us on our next London trip. Not sure wether it's really my cup of tea but willing to give anything a go. I find most of the Lloyd-webber/tim Rice shows a bit crass with ridiculous rhyming lyrics a lot of the time.

I loved Phantom of the Opera, it was really quite sad but very good! You should be OK as it is Tim Rice who does the lyrics and he didn't do Phantom of the Opera, so perhaps you'll prefer this one! I quite like Tim Rice though (enjoyed Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph) and I LOVE Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals, think Cats is my favourite (also with no lyrics by Tim Rice!)
I went to see Macbeth in a tiny little derelict theatre. Used to be an old concert hall have no idea where it is now mayvbe gone. It was a superb performance where you were in amongst the actors, they'd push past you to get to where they needed to be, you were sat at the dinner table when Banquo's ghost appeared. Amazing. Oh yeah and it was set in Idi Amins Uganda! http://www.guardian.co.uk/stage/2004/sep/02/theatre1
That sounds really good! I've seen quite a few Shakespeare plays in London and in Liverpool, and they've been a bit hit and miss, never seen Macbeth though!

I ended up seeing 'A Ghost Story' - it was good, but think I'd opt to see a musical next time instead.
I've never heard of 'A Ghost Story', is it scary?
Went to see an absolutely amazing production of An Inspector Calls. The set design was some of the best I've seen, it started with an outside view of the house which then opened up like a dolls house when the inspector stepped into the hallway. It worked so well, must have taken ages to design.
That sounds good. Read Inspector Calls in school and would be interested in seeing it on stage!
