Nativity run

Is anyone running the Nativity Run on Saturday? I only just heard of it but sounds like a good event - a 5K dressed as a character from the Nativity story followed by a free mince pie and Winter Pimms. Very festive!

Oh this sounds incredible, I'd ove to do it. Do you know where it is? I'd go as Mary without a doubt

It's at Clapham Common Bandstand. I'd go as an angel I think!

An angel would be good, but running with wings would be a nightmare. You'd probaly knock out Mary with them!

Which would be just a tad awkward. I wish they'd had a run like this a bit closer to here - that'd be a funny one to get involved with. I was rubbish and didn't even get involved the the local Santa one...

Nor did I, every year i see the santa's around the city and think that next year I'll definitely enter it

I'm always like that, 'I'll do it next year'... but this year I actually did!

I want to do a 10k next year, and normally that's a 'I'll do it next year' and it never happens. But I am determined to make it happen this time!

I keep thinking that too, I might buy a training plan, then I'll have to commit to it

I never got round to running this year's Santa Run either. I'm the same, always thinking I'll do something next year then never getting round to it! I think if you arrange to do a race with someone else though, and for a charity that means something to you, you're more likely to see it through.

Yeah, definitely. I'm really glad I did a 5k this year. I think I'll try and do another 5k next year (not sure where yet), not sure if I'm ready for a 10k though. Although, my bf's training for the marathon next year, so it's probably a good time to get motivated to go a little bit further whilst he's training.

I think if someone else is training it motivates you. Perhaps if your boyfriend was to train around a park, you could join in with every other lap?

That's a good idea, i think i'd do it with a friend instead though, my boyfriend is far too bossy when he's exercising

Actually I did go out on a run with him in the summer and got a bit mean because he was way better than I was and I was pretty much dying after 10 minutes - it was not a pleasant sight to see... I don't mind running next to him on the treadmill though - my jogging's a lot slower than his, but I'm more motivated to keep running if he is.

I get too disheartened if someone's better than me, so I tend to exercise alone really. Not sure I've got the team spirit in sports

I'd have to go as a King - carrying gold of course.
