In marathons such as Boston and Flying Pig, they have the ability to send text messages or emails to spectators about where a runner is on the course. I thought this would be a great idea for the Air Force Marathon since a lot of the course is closed off to spectators. I sent them an email asking if they would consider it, but kind of got brushed off about it. I think this would be a great feature at the Air Force Marathon!!!

That requires more of the RFID mats. They already have 6 and the more you add, the more expensive it gets to put on your event.
While it is cool (Chicago's is really cool), it would require a lot more effort that the Marathon doesn't have the staff or resources to adequately field. Maybe as the Marathon grows, it might become more feasible.
'til later,
Scott
