Rejected again!

Rejected again after 6 attempts, what do you have to do to get to run in your own country?

6 consecutive attempts? 

Yes every year since 2006

i did the marathon 2008, rejected 2009 then i had a letter about 2010 saying that because ive already applied and been unsuccesful that they would still honour the 5-6years rule(whichever it was), which was basically guaranteeing you the fifth or sixth year..

But as virgin took it over they said that they wasnt going to do that anymore. So you have two options, you either missed a year and have now come under the new system or you havnt missed one and you need to get hold of virgin london marathon and explain the situation.

As of last year i think it was, your either in or your not, there's no more "well if you apply for 5 you'll get the sixth"

I had an email from Virgin saying they were still honouring the 4 rejections and in on the 5th year but wouldn't carry on doing it for new applicants so if it is consecutive you should contact them.

I've got the same problem.  When they changed from flora to virgin, virgin said that anyone who'd already had three or more consecutive applications could carry on (I've subsequently applied and got rejected for 2010 and 2011 making that 5 consecutive rejections so I was sure that I'd get a place for 2012 as that'd be my 6th (In March this year I even got a priority ballot entry system email from virgin so I assumed it was in the bag for 2012). But I've just received the familiar rejection magazine once again.

Tried calling the number but I think their phone system is broken as I've tired different option choices but once you get past choosing an option noting happens! Will keep trying

It seems that although as I’d already made several applications I’m being allowed to continue via the ‘priority’ ballot thing, my previous applications were not consecutive as I missed 2008.  So they started me again at 2009 meaning 2012 is only my 4^th attempt and I’m not guaranteed a place until 2014

Got through on their phoneline and according to their records my applications are from 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012, no 2009 or 2011 showing, so I don't qualify for a guaranteed place until 2016. How convenient! Even though I have the sweatshirts, fleeces etc from all attempts! Stuff 'em is what I say!
