Can someone please tell me what was the fee charged for a single entry without any charity obligations for this years London Marathon? Good luck to all in today's running of the race from across the pond.
From memory I think it was £32 - which compared to what you pay for a bib in the USA is positively cheap

Thanks Keith, you are correct on the 'positively cheap' as it works out to only $52.00 US and that is a bargain. This Yank will give it a go when registration opens for 2013 on the 30th even though I know the odds are against getting in on the first try. Nothing outside of the states until Berlin in September for me. If I don't get into London next year I will give Paris a go. Do the French even like the French? If I get into London I will post it and the first pint will be on me next April. Any other races you really enjoy on your side of the pond? Thanks again, Scotty W from Phoenix, Arizona USA...
Scotty As an international you can buy a travel package with guaranteed race entry - no idea how much that costs but not cheap I would imagine.
Other races? Rome is an excellent race and you see all the sights of a wonderful city - I enjoyed it a lot. Havent done Barcelona but have heard good things about it.
Or Dublin in the autumn for something different - again havent done it but its supposed to be a fun race (well according to the Irish tourist Board :-) )
All those races are pretty easy to get into if your timings right
Paris seems to be one of those race syou love or hate as the organisation is very french (unsurprisingly)

Paris is an nice run, very well organised. But it doesn't have the crowd support of London! And lots of people walking from 30k onwards which was frustrating!
This year they staggered the start which was a lot of hanging around! But eased the congestion! Would recommend if you don't get into London.

Thanks DaisyCat and Keith. Good to hear the wave start eased some of the congestion which was a big knock on the Paris race in the past from what I have read. As you state DaisyCat the support in London looks to be second to none and being a 'ham' I love support. I did Rome this March and really enjoyed it a lot and I think I will sign up again for next year. As you state Keith going with a travel package would be a way to get in but the rub is I work for a major airline. Given the travel benefits I receive from my company it would be hard to pay for a full fare airline ticket as part of the package and a full rate on a hotel. Everybody knows us airline folks are cheapskates when it comes to anything travel related because of the discounts we receive but I like the way you are thinking. Thanks for the other race suggestions, I will take a look at those. I trust London went well and I'm sure a lot of folks will be doing the 'Marathon Shuffle' for a day or two after. Well I'm off for a short run in the heat, going to be over 100 F here today. Doing a bit of training for the Mini Indy 1/2 Marathon which is part of the month of May activities in Indianapolis Indiana leading up to the Indy 500 at the end of May. I go to the 500 every year so getting to run a complete lap around the 2 and 1/2 mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of the 1/2 marathon is a highlight for me. I still have a couple of extra tickets to the 500 if anybody wants to pop over. All the best from over here...
