Anybody know if there are still some GB places available?
Thanks

You may still find one, best bet is to contact the charities themselves. There was one the posted on here a few weeks ago a think? Maybe worth a trawl throug the pages.
Trying to help. Trying to learn and most importantly having fun running.
If the deadline for charities has not already passed....
There is a company called Quit (a stop smoking charity) based on the ground floor of our office building who had a spare space they were trying to fill last week. Looking for £1000 I believe.
I contacted a few charities direct and I now have a place with MSRC in Colchester. Nice and local for me too
Thanks for the advice. Much appreciated
See you in April (I'll be one of the many in green
)

Welcome to team MSRC Blueski35
It's a great charity to run for and the support Abi and the team give you is fantastic.
What sort of time are you aiming for? You mention you're local to Colchester, whereabouts? I'm in Tiptree.
Thanks, Murphster
I know Tiptree, played football there a few times back in the 80s
I'm a little further up the A12, just south of Ipswich

Oh, and ran 4:12 at Halstead last year so looking at 4:15 ish at London

You should do better than that: London is much flatter than Halstead.

But very crowded on the course around that pace, caused me problems in 2010 the only time at London I've been going for a time. For me at least, London is a course to enjoy rather than get a PB.
Thanks, Murphster

We may get the chance to meet up before then, as previously MSRC have arranged a get together for runners before the day itself. Good luck with your training, I'm hoping for a similar time, but would really like to get below 4hrs.
You're right Clairy. Too crowded at London to go for a time
Laurent, have you run Halstead? Enjoy the grass slop in the last mile??
Murphster, I'm sure we will catch up. Abi talked to me about the Colchester Half so I'll probably be there, so long as it doesn't clash with the Bromley 20

Even with the crowds I would be surprised if most people didnt run faster at London than Halstead. London is a much easier run and actually for parts the crowds can get you to run faster rather than slower. there are bits of Halstead when you are pretty much on your own when pace can suffer.

You make a good point, Keith
On a slightly different matter, how the **** do I change my profile picture? Looks simple but doesn't work for me

Yes, I did run Halstead last year, and found it very enjoyable. The grass slope did not bother me, although the temperature on the day did...
A good pointer to the relative difficulty is the proportion of people under 3:00. Not that high at Halstead...

Hey Murphster, just looked closely at your profile pic, you a long suffering Chelski fan too?
(sorry to take the thread off VLM buzzers)

Yep, season ticket holder for the last 20 years, and and followed them since I was 6 (36 years ago!!!). Do you go up to the Bridge much?

About twice a season, depending on where I'm working. Ususally for mid-week UCL or cup replays. Wish I could do more
