Cry i have had a nightmare!

have managed to pull my hamstring whilst at football and now still in some pain and have a massive bruise all up my leg so it must have been a bad one

have given it a week to recover but went on a 5 mile run today, it was sore but suppose it at least didnt get any worse during the run!?!?

welcome ANY advice but also wondered if anyone is local to leamington and knows a good physio?

Sounds like it's too late but give up the football! I usually play 5-a-side every Sunday night but I've knocked that on the head until after the marathon as it is so easy to pick up injuries. You simply cannot risk it at this stage of your training.

Good luck with your recovery and I hope you're not sidelined for too long!

Look for a sports massage therapist. Make sure they are BTEC level 4 or 5 qualified. They can help with the healing process and keep your body mainatined throughout your training. Would help but too far away from you. Am both physio, massage therapist and reflexologist. Hope you find someone.

Hi, there is a very good physio called leslie mcbride at the Covernty Uni sports centre (024 7679 5993). Im not sure how far from you that is, but if you dont mind the journey I can certainly recommend her.

advice wise... you are probably familiar with the old PRICE routine, but rather than rest, continue with any painfree exercises (or possibly discomfort) which doesnt cause it to flare up. If you had a massive bruise then you have done a bit more than a niggly 'pull'. You will certainly need to go onto strengthening it later, but the physio will guide you through a suitable program to limit the risk of reoccurance.
