yep people appear to be able to get on that link and confirm place by paying if they havent already so the madness commences

which link is that Keith??

This one

https://www.virginlondonmarathonballot.com/notify-payment/2/

But only seems to work (good or bad) if you didnt pay at time/donate fee. If you can sign in and pay you are in it seems. If you sign in with correct details and it cant find you then prob unlucky

well according to that i am in- i am wondering where that link originated from - i saw the same link on another running site i am on

Its the offiocial VLM site and letters are apparently out in next few days.

If it let u in and pay then you are in - congratulations

Thanks keith- there has been alot of talk that this is a scam- i dont think it is but just rang VLM she could neither confirm or deny if that link is correct- she said not to panic and wait for the pack.... maybe they are not allowed to mention it yet as this link has obviously been leaked and they would rather people find out by waiting for packs than this way

It would be  a funny scam that rejects 90% of people who try and enter and only excepts credit card details from the select few :-)

Plus it clearly knows already the email addresses of people who entered the ballot (try entering a random email address and you will get a different response to a genuine one)

Main issue with it is that until packs start coming out there is a chance that the site hasn't been fully updated with all acceptances - not likely at this stage. But if you can get in and pay then I think you are in.

A. I would strongly advise not to ever put in payment details until you have the official letter set in stone verifying everything.

However

B. It appears to be exactly the same link as previous years for successful ballot entrants so I would be leaning towards 'if you can login you're in the marathon' if you can't then you have been unsuccessful. My sister has managed to login and all her details including password etc are from her original VLM application.

I miss those old threads in previous years before I did my first London Marathon of 'the money has cleared in my account' or I have a friend who's a postman and has seen the 'letters' or purely just harassing my local postman on my morning run and getting him to go through all his mail :P - the suspense is never the same again :-)

yes, it is exactly the same link as last year and is not a scam. can't wait to get my rejection magazine Frown

I've already got my rejection letter/mag/jacket Cry. If you see an Elvis on the front, it's rejection. If you see two runners going across Westminster bridge, you're in!

I'm seriously considering my opinions since that I don't want have to go through a charity place again. Is anyone thinking doing half marathons or looking at marathons abroad? I'm really liking the through of maybe the Chicago or New York marathon next year and making a holiday of it.

Me too. The postman came knocking with my ''White Running Jacket'' and rejection letter this morning. Is the Brighton Marathon still open?

Good Luck Guys and Gals! I'll be in, because I applied via Good For Age in June. Still, I really look forward to when the Accepted magazine arrives on the doormat.

Going by the 'Link' bouncing about on here, my partner and brother have both been rejected.

For reference, this is the message you get if unsuccessful:

We're sorry, but we can't find the details you entered as being successful in the ballot.

This is the message you get if you entered details incorrectly (or can't remeber your password):

Unfortunately we can't find your details on our system. Please click the back button to try again.

I'm not in but I can't remember my wife's password when I entered her so maybe..!

No place for me according to the web site , Elvis confirmed this when I went home at lunch time :-((

Decided to give the Manchester Marathon a miss and do Edinburgh again next May :-)

Quoted from Tunster:

Is anyone thinking doing half marathons or looking at marathons abroad? I'm really liking the through of maybe the Chicago or New York marathon next year and making a holiday of it.

I have just put my name down for the Bedford half in December. I will use it as gentle groundwork between now and then before the full marathon training schedule starts after Christmas.

Just had word from home, the Dog has officially eaten my 'Accepted' Magazine! YellYellYell. I wonder if I can get my hands on another copy?

Posted 27.09.12, 2:44pm

I've just been told my "Congratulation" letter is at home, so I phoned my son and he has the same. Laughing

Both of us accepted but will have to train separately because we live miles apart.

(much further than training miles!)Tongue Out
