....anyone out there doing the Kent Road Runner track marathon on Monday ??  I am.....lol.

It is 17 laps on a purpose built cycle track in Kent..........hencewhy it has 'Kent' and 'Track' in it's name.

Have never done so many many laps before in a marathon - most I have done to date is 3 at Gloucester....so...it will either be dead good or just crazy mind blowing stuff.

Am looking forward to it tho and have even got my own number I requested....am so sad, especially as am pretty much on here talking to myself.  Undecided

Hi

Am signed up for it and did the tester event earlier in year. Its OK actually, not totally scenic but a gently undullating course and lots of opportunity to see other people. Lopps are a bit short but makes it go a bit quicker in some ways if you count loops rather than miles

Picked up a slight shin injury at Windermere so havent decided if I will actually show up on Monday and will only decide probably on Sunday night.

Hi there!  Yes I'm doing Kent Roadrunner and actually really looking forward to it! I've just been chatting to a few folks on facebook messages about it- quite a few of us are having a go at it! If you are staying at the Premier (A2/Singlewell) you may well see a small group of us on the Sunday having a pre race drink!

Marvellous......I am able to travel up on the day so will have to skip the pre-race drink luckily as once I get drinking there's no stopping me !  I will save my drinking for Monday night......as I'm sure you will really.  Laughing

Well, it would be good to meet you in the flesh at last. A 100 marathon club pal of mine also did the trial event and said exactly the same as you.  Hope to see you there...if not....I hope your injury gets kicked into touch quickly. Smile

Hi Nunu - did you do it yesterday? How did it go?

Hi Keith....I LOVED it....absolutely loved it !!! What a well organised, well thought out friendly run that was ! Did it in 3.53 and slightly peed off with myself as I was a numpty and cocked up my lap counting....even WITH bands !!  I thought I had 3 more laps to go but it was only 2. I would have pushed harder if I'd known and might have bettered my PB of 3.51......BUT.......a tremendous run and have already entered for next year.

I liked the multi lap thing so much I have now entered Boddington on 1st July. I looked at that in 2010 but was unsure about so many laps. Kent was great tho as you could look over to see other folk you know and give a cheery wave. Brilliant.

Thanks for asking.  Laughing

I enjoyed Monday so much I have now entered Boddington on 1st July. You are a man who has done stuff and am wondering if you have ever done that one ??

Right - enough pestering from me. Wink

I did a marathon double at Christmas last year - 17 laps each day around a lake.  That got a bit boring!!!!

I know there are marathons run around athletic tracks if you fancy giving that a go....?

Hi Nunuzela!  I really did enjoy the event and have registered for next year!  I probably did see you but wasn't sure who I was looking for.......I was easy to spot- number 60 wearing a union jack t-shirt and baseball cap :) . It wasn't the eaiest course in the world- more undulating than I expected with magic hills that just grew in size after each lap Wink. I got another cherished sub-4 at 3:51 so very pleased. What number were you?
