hi all, are the nerves starting to creep up now the ballot results are almost upon us? eagerly awaiting that sacred magazine to land on or door mats! im starting to build up a collection of rejected/commiserations copies! 4 infact... i hope the next one doesnt go to that side of the pile. i have yet to run a marathon and i have refused to do any other because i want london to be my first. wish me luck and good luck to all others that have entered via the ballot!!!
one good thing for me is, if i am rejected, i am guarenteed for 2014 as a 5times unsuccessful aplicant. feel sorry for the ones that wont get this option anymore!
good luck

x2 - been a born and bred Londoner I had the same romantic feeling - only problem was that it was like trying to sprint for a train at Victoria Station during rush hour. But I'm still in the ballot :P The year I don't actually want a place will probably be the year I get one ;)
Shame you havent done some other ones while you have been waiting - you have missed out on 5 years of marathon running
London is a great day out with awesome support but its just 26.2 like all the others.

Five years well spent if you ask me!
Save it for London, it's the best...
Soft & fuzzy
Are there marathons other than london?

I agree, it'll be the year you think you could do without getting in that you do!

Am intrigued as to why you rejected others whilst waiting for London ? London is just amazing but there are so many others as am sure you know. It's actually the smaller ones that are more appealing in my mind. Just interested especially as it has been a 4 year wait. I started my marathon running in 2008 at London. My next one was London 09 so a whole years gap and a wasted one I think as between them I just then dropped down to normal 10ks and a couple of halfs which made the old 16 week training slog tough to get my head around again. I wish I'd done more sooner........or maybe not more if you're not into that, but at least some whilst waiting.

50 to do and will let you know when I'm there - but am still one ahead of Sir C de Custarde....oh no, hang on...am now TWO ahead......mwah ha haaaaaaa.
Oops - forgot it was that time already - when are we likely to find out ???

Do they still guarantee a place if you have been rejected 5 times? I had heard that they no longer did that?

i have done other events while waiting for this one to crop up, well i say events i mean event. i run the sheffield half every year. but i just wanted to do one marathon to say ive done one and that why i want it to be london! maybe ill enjoy it that much i get the buzz to keep entering other ones. i've never been to london so i was hoping to make a long weekend of it and do the marathon and see all the sights in a day. as soon as i find out if im in im gonna up the training and stick to the healthy lifestyle. that gives me 29 weeks ish for training!!

To log in. Friend of mine was able to do so-she can choose payment options (ie she was successful).
Only successful applicants can log in (same as every year)
