There isnt an ideal diet for weight loss, everyone responds differently to food and activity and base metabolism affect play a part. Generally speaking a diet low in processed foods will help with weight loss, but portion sizes can affect even the healthiest of diets. If youre dieting, plenty of whole veg and fruit helps to fill you up without overloading the calories. Nuts, eggs, fish and lean meats are high in protein which helps keep you fuller and can help reduce snacking on junk or fast foods. The best way to lose weigh is to never be hungry by eating and snacking sensibly.

I try to avoid too many carbs and stick to meat, veg and fruit. For breakfast I'll have scrambled eggs and a protein shake, then for lunch I might have a chicken salad with some carrots and hummus. I'll snack on bananas and try to eat some fish / meat and veg for my main meal. Seems to work for me

Ideal Protein Diet
If you’re having an ideal protein diet, It’s better to have some foods contain protein that fit with the diet program. Generally, proteins that fit to diet program is protein that contain low in saturated fat or cholesterol and should contain many essential nutrients. So, If you want to have a balanced diet, you have to select your foods that contain the requirements that I’ve told before for your diet menu everyday.
The Ideal protein diet is diet with consuming the ideal protein foods only, those are foods that contain low in saturated fat. It’s because saturated fat can raise levels of bad LDL cholesterol in our blood. Therefore we must select our foods like low fat milk, skinless chicken, white-meat, etc. But in some of people cases, the raising of LDL cholesterol levels is caused by dietary cholesterol. So, if you one of them, it’s better to limit your cholesterol by consuming non cholesterol protein such as egg-white, nuts, soy, etc. Learn More how to loose weitht with ideal protein diet

I think an 'Ideal Diet' really depends on what food you enjoy, but it really just needs to be balanced; protien, carbs, all of those nutrients you need. Its just best to be balanced instead of overloading on one of the aspects, which is why some people stay away from carbs cause they're 'bad' for you but really its just in large amounts that they're bad, a bit is fine! --> It gives you energy!!! And of course drink wise - plenty of water throughout the day. And when cooking don't use too much oil! I have a relative who uses spray oil and she lost soo much weight from it. Annd of course fruit and veg -> in season is cheaper and tastier ;)

Have you tried cutting out dairy? That can be a trigger for a lot of things such as IBS, eczema and other skin problems such as acne.

Now, to make matters worse, you were taking different cholesterol lowering pills and supplements but you are not pairing it with a healthy diet and regular exercise.
