So what is the ideal amount of pasta per serving? Im abut 5'8 13 st and am training for this years London. I have a ten mile race tomorrow so will be having a pasta tonight but usually end up stuffed after?
Trying to help. Trying to learn and most importantly having fun running.
A portion of pasta is roughly 1/2 a standard 'small' cup if that helps

I always cook too much- I've seen those spaghetti measurers but have never bought one. I normally go by a handful but then I always add more for good measure and end up with too much -duh!

We measure it out in cups, 2 small level cups of dry pasta makes us between 4-6 portions. This will depend on how hungry we are that night and if we're splitting it into smaller portions for lunch at work.

This is what I need to start doing- I always make too much then just end up eating it all so it doesn't go to waste. I just need to buy some sandwich boxes and start keeping it for my work lunches.
May the force be with you
I always serve pasta on a "side" plate so I know I'm not going to overdo my portion. I always thought that the ideal serving of pasta was 1/4 of a normal plate - equals to a fist full for me.
I can measure dry pasta out by my double-handful, which is roughly 1 portion. My hands are really small though, if my OH did that he could fill a whole cup to overflowing with pasta and over measure.

I don't know if this may help, here's an article on carbo-loading: http://www.realbuzz.com/articles/the-science-behind-carbo-loading/
