Hi folks,

I am thinking about entering the Paris 2010 marathon.  There's nothing on the official website about next years race.  Anyone know when the new sites will be going up?

Am i able to just pay the race fee and enter the race or is it a ballot?

Thanks

i did this race 2 years ago and had no problem getting a place, its not like london where you have to jump through various hoops and go in a ballot and such nonsense.  basically once the registration opens you can just apply online and as long as its not full you will get  a place there and then, it doesnt matter how slow or fast your time is, everyone can get a place as long as its not full.  the race entry does get full though so as soon as the registration opens crack on. it doesnt however fill up in a matter of days or weeks - its usually a couple of months so youve got a bit of time.  you can also pay an extra few quid - was about £6 for cancellation insurance so if you to get injured you can get your entry fee back.  once youve got your place they email you and at some point they will write/email you to request that you provide a medical certifcate to say you are fit to run.  i just got a letter of a mate who was a nurse and this sufficed! you have to post this, then you can check on the website as they confirm when they've received it. near the race you get a pack through the post which you have to take to the expo in paris to pick up your number, the expo was very well organised. its a beautiful course and the nicest marathon.
