Update from CLIC Sargent vs The Royal Society on 21st February 2012:
It was a really close match. The first quarter ended with the Royal Society one up, the second was equally as tight as CLIC Sargent levelled at 12-12. The Royal Society’s shooters were on fire. Some tighter defensive play by CLIC Sargent in the third quarter saw them shoot into the lead. The fourth quarter was once again very close, before three goals at the death gave the score line a bit of a flattering feel for CLIC Sargent.
Final Score: CLIC Sargent 25 - 16 The Royal Society
CS POTM: Rosie King for some defying the laws of gravity balancing when defending on tiptoes
RS POTM: Anna MacLeod for pinpoint accurate passing

Update from CLIC Sargent vs TCT on 7th February 2012:
It was a game played in arctic conditions – the thermometer hit highs of -2oC as both teams played in their winter thermals. The evening got off to a bit of a tough start as a family bereavement meant we ended up umpireless at the last moment. This was felt hardest by TCT who were going to borrow CLIC Sargent’s substitute player to even the sides out until she was drafted onto emergency umpiring duties instead. TCT’s late arrival never materialised (could it have had anything to do with the bitter cold?!) which meant it was seven vs six in CLIC Sargent’s favour for the whole game. This was likely the deciding factor in a hard fought win for CS.
Final Score: CLIC Sargent 21 - 10 TCT
CS POTM: Simon Lee
TCT POTM: Faye Seogalutze for bossing the centre of the pitch despite playing in her coat for the first three quarters!

Update on last nights chilly game at Kennington between VSO and The Royal Society.
Result:
14 V 20 VSO win
Players of the match:
VSO GD – Jess Harrison
RS WA/C – Emma Woods
Summary:
“The game summary could easily just be “cold fingers and toes” as we were back on the court for the first game this season. A really evenly matched and well spirited game that saw excellent shooting, great defensive play and some smooth centre to D action from both sides. A great start to the season that we all fully enjoyed and left us raring to go for the next game”

Just to let you know the match scores from yesterday:
Scope 17 – BITC 4
It was definitely hard work running around after all those mince pies at Christmas! But both teams put in a real effort and we were pleased to have some boys on both sides to add to the “energy”!
Players of the match: BITC’s centre Fiona Hague made it pretty impossible to get away from and Scope’s GA Francesca proved that her aim hadn’t suffered at all from the break. Good first game back :)
