_Cat_ 'I know Nikki, maybe you were in a pub, I got held up for a while at mile 8 waiting for the loos, kind of wished I didnt wait as it knocked me, ended up with leg ceasing up. I agree with the meet-up, kind of disappointed there was nothing, maybe next year we can arrange one!! ;) On another note, one of my friends gave me a card 'Hap-pea days' with little peas all over it, made me laugh so hard, but she didnt get it ;) x' 1 month, 3 weeks ago

Nix83 'Hahahahaha! How funny! I saw the peas a few times one of them looked absolutely wrecked! He was pouring with sweat bless him! Yep I was probably in a pub, or garage or dominos! Lol I actually can't believe that happened! It's funny now but wasn't at the time. Hope ur feeling ok and resting up xx' 1 month, 3 weeks ago

_Cat_ 'The marathon legs feeling have gone, but now really fatigued and have joint pain in my knee, kind of expected it really, dont mind having lupus flares if I have worked for it ;) xx' 1 month, 3 weeks ago

I went to the brighton marathon on Sunday! Not sure if it made me more nervous or excited? I was watchin my training partner she smashed it in 5.26 so proud of her! The sun was beaming down which we had not thought about she's now looking like a tomato! Can I surgest sun cream on Sunday? We have all been training in such cold weather but its looking like it may be warm. Even if the suns not out all the time, which it wasn't in Brighton you don't want to end up really burnt. Preach over =) x

Nix83 'Well done Cat! Just getting out there doing anything is good! Iv been telling my mum about you and she thinks amazing! She also suffers from Lupus and struggles walking never mind anything else so I think you may be her new hero! ;) I no all this stuff in Boston does make you nervous but we can't let these mindless idiots who do these tragic things stop us or we would never do anything. The security would have been excellent anyway wil now be red hot! Do u think we will all have like a charity meeting point before and after? They did at Brighton x' 2 months ago
-
_Cat_ 'All 'lupies' are my hero, so your mum is my hero :) I have been following VLM on facebook and I see a lot of people reporting injuries but still planning running, a lot are saying they are walking and running, so I dont feel so bad if I do that now :) I have no idea what will happen with the charity meeting points, probably will find out at the expo? x' 2 months ago

Nix83 'Oh yeah! Well im going tomorrow, not the best day wth thatchers funeral but never mind! Yep there will b pleanty of people walking hun u will b fine! X' 2 months ago

This time next week we will all be somewhere on the course, hasn't it come round quickly! What is everyone doing for preparation this week?

PeterLannon 'Hi Nix, tapering is tough as I also want to get out and run, but pushing it now will do no good only harm. Watch out for your knee. Actyually the first marathon I have actually trained for, all pervious ones (last 1 in 2004) were done on youth and not much else, so am actually ready for this one. Take care of the knee. Yes, terrible in Boston, but we in London will not be beaten! ' 2 months ago

nicko84 'im glad to hear your knee felt better, fingers crossed it stays that way!' 2 months, 2 weeks ago

_Cat_ 'I failed, my calf is playing up, I am disappointed my training did not get to the level I had hoped for with no signs of it getting better. I decorated my sons bedroom the other day and was in so much pain, kind of got an insight into how I am going to feel after the marathon!! But I am staying positive I know its going to be a good day all in all :) x' 2 months, 1 week ago

_Cat_ 'Hey Nix, training for me hasnt gone as well as I hoped, Lupus hasnt played ball for me since November, have managed to get some runs in but then I get hit with a bad flare, hoping now the weather is picking up I can get a few small runs in now. I had hoped to be tapering off by now, but I havent managed to get past 9 miles :( Anyway, I am being positive about it, if I have to power walk it I will. My rheumatologist has advised me to stop running altogether now as my joints are protesting, so I just want to cross that finish line regardless how long it takes me that is what I am focusing on, so if this is my time to retire, I am just glad I am going out of running on a high :) ' 2 months, 2 weeks ago

_Cat_ 'Forgot to add. We fly from Inverness on the Friday, we are going to try and get down to the expo on the Friday evening, if not, it will be Saturday morning ' 2 months, 2 weeks ago
-
Nix83 'Cat your an inspiration!! And yes I think that is the best attitude to have, just get across the line! your doing amazingly well, just dont make yourself worse before the big event just take it easy. I shall be looking for everyone in there lupus vests at the start line :-) Hope things go ok for you over the next few weeks! take care x ' 2 months, 2 weeks ago

Hi all, first time iv been on as my log in would not work! Im running the marathon as my Mum suffers with Lupus. How's the training going for everyone? I did the Milton Keynes half last wk end, was fab but V cold!! Stupidly did 14m 4 days later and have hurt my knee so am doing the RICE method, seems to be working. Hoping to get out this Thurs to do 18m. What distance is everyone training upto before they start to taper? Also does anyone else feel like there life has been taken over by training, I seem to even be dreaming about running!! Cat im sorry to read your not doing so well, I think your amazing to be doing it at all and you should be very proud!! No matter if you run or walk across the finish line just to get across it by the sounds of ot the way you are feeling will be a massive achievement!! Try and keep positive xx Well thats enough from me hope you are all training hard. will look forward to meeting you all. Nikki xx

gemmalpartridge 'Hi All I said hi to a couple of you on route well done all! Brilliant day. For those of you who ran last year do you agree the atmosphere was even better this year! Spectators support was fantastic. I beat last years time by 8.5 minutes and came in at 4:24:19. This years aim was to take it steady, take it all in, smile and enjoy it. That i certainly did! Cat you are amazing and should be so so proud of yourself! Take it easy now and make sure you are eating really well and resting to aid recovery. Shame we didnt all get to meet up i agree.' 1 month, 3 weeks ago
