Hey all, i was hoping you may help me with something, I am trying to keep fit and i have taken up running again after a long period of time off. I went for my first run on tuesday and i covered 3.68 miles in 45 minutes. Is this a good for someone who has been away from running for a while? When i say a while i mean a few years. Also can anyone give me some advice on mantaining stamina while running. Thank you

    • jenjo 'That sounds a good time, I would take that as a start point and then aim to improve on the time. As for stamina I would start trying to do a longer run at the weekend, at a comfortable pace and make it a little longer each week. This should make shorter runs feel easier(!) Good luck!' 1 month, 1 week ago

    • Johanne 'I think its brilliant. After a few years off you might expect not to be able to run 3.6 miles at all first time out. Perceived wisdom seems to be mixing up the tempo/intervals for improving stamina - quick bursts of tempo etc. I try to do this by mixing up running tracks on my ipod so that I encourage myself to sprint on the fast tracks but I am not very disciplined!' 1 month ago
