The ING New York City Marathon is run in front of approximately two million cheering spectators and 315 million worldwide television viewers. The race course starts on Staten Island and takes a route through the famous boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Manhattan before finishing in Central Park. The premier event of the New York Road Runners, the ING New York City Marathon is one of the five World Marathon Majors races and draws more than 90,000 applicants each year.
