Why run for RNIB?
Every day another 100 people will start to lose their sight. People run for RNIB because they believe in what we do and what we are trying to achieve. Together we have a vision. That vision is of a world in which people with sight loss enjoy the same rights, freedom, responsibilities and quality of life as those who are fully sighted.
We want you to join our mission to challenge blindness by empowering people who are blind or partially sighted, removing the barriers they face and helping to prevent blindness. You can help us achieve this by making your mark - join Team RNIB.
For every £1 we receive, RNIB spends 88p directly helping people with sight problems, 11p on raising more vital funds and just 1p on administration costs.
How your money helps
- £8 helps pay for a call to our dedicated Helpline
- £20 provides information and support on employment issues
- £100 enables a young person with sight loss to spend a day on one of our vacation schemes trying new activities and meeting new friends
- £125 pays for a patient to receive specialist care in RNIB's low vision clinic
- £400 identifies the right equipment and support for a blind or partially sighted child to get the most out of their schooling
