Sarah Bernhardt once called Chicago "the pulse of America" and the Chicago Marathon is sure to get your pulse racing!
From humble beginnings in 1977, with just over 4,000 entrants, Bank of America Chicago Marathon sees over 33,000 competitors pounding the streets of Chicago in a bid to accomplish their personal goals. An incredible 1.2 million spectators turn out to line the streets of Chicago and cheer the runners on.
Bank of America Chicago Marathon is known for its first class flat course. This helps experienced runners to achieve good, fast times. It also provides an excellent, accessible course for those that are perhaps less experienced. Runners will be able to take in the wonderful cityscape, passing dozens of Chicago landmarks, finishing in Grant Park on Columbus Drive, near Buckingham Fountain.
